AMMAN — Director-general of Jordan's Income and Sales Tax
Department, Hussam Abu Ali, has announced an extension for the submission of
audited financial statements for the 2022 fiscal year.

The deadline has been extended until May 24 to help auditors
and tax experts complete all the required procedures in time.
Extension requestedThe extension was granted at the request of auditors, tax
experts, and delegates, who expressed difficulties in completing the necessary
procedures within the previous deadline.
The extension aims to reduce the burden on companies and
ease the procedures with the department.
Tax returns due by April 30Despite the deadline extension, the date for submitting tax
returns and preliminary financial statements remains unchanged until the end of
April 30. Therefore, the Income and Sales Tax Directorates and their centers
will be open on April 29–30, including Saturday and Sunday, to enable taxpayers
who have not yet paid their taxes to do so before the end of the legal period.
The Income and Sales Tax Department has urged taxpayers who
are obligated to submit income tax returns for the fiscal year 2022 to submit
them and pay the declared amounts electronically before 30 April.
To avoid being subjected to fines stipulated by the law,
taxpayers are also reminded to submit their income tax returns and initial
financial statements before the end of the legal period.
