Telecoms commission brings in over 100 million in 8 months

AMMAN— The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) raked in around JD102.5 million in the first eight months of this year, according to the chairman of the TRC board of commissioners, Ghazi Al-Jabour, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.اضافة اعلان

The TRC achieved 96 percent revenue collection efficiency, with total estimated revenue for 2021 of around JD107 million, according to Al-Ghad daily.

Jabour said the TRC is the independent agency injecting the most revenue into the state Treasury and achieving the greatest savings.

The TRC achieved JD1.961 billion in savings in the period from 1997 up to the end of August this year, money transferred to the Treasury.

Ten percent of revenues of telecommunications companies that are regulated by the TRC go to fund the commission’s operation. The TRC’s financial resources include revenues from the issuance and renewal of licenses and permits, revenues from services rendered, as well as from fines and revenues from internet service providers.
