parties
specialized in the construction of economic cities, development zones,
and free zones, local news outlets reported.
The tender is calling on such global
companies to come forward to prepare studies, designs, and engineering plans
and well as develop, finance, manage, invest, promote, operate, and maintain
the economic city.
Project goalsMinister of Industry, Trade, and Supply and
Minister of Labor Youssef Al-Shamali and Iraqi
Minister of Industry and Minerals Khaled Battal Al-Najm said the project aims to bolster bilateral
economic cooperation, achieve development and integration in a number of
fields, provide job opportunities, attract investments, and revitalize a host
of sectors.
It comes as a fruit of talks between
His Majesty King Abdullah, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al Sudani, and
Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. These discussions focused on economic
