least three years to recover completely from the fallout of the COVID-19
pandemic, said a leading personality in hotelier, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

Abdulhakim
Al-Hindi, president of the Jordan Hotel Association, said the tourism sector
suffered serious losses estimated at millions of dinars, driven by factors,
most notably lockdowns and other restrictions linked to the pandemic.
“The last two years have been the most difficult for
the tourism sector since its inception,” he said. “However, there are
significant debts and loans owed to the tourism sector, which had no
possibility to pay and commit to these loans.”
Hindi predicted a “noticeable recovery” in the
tourism sector soon. But, he added, that the effort could be hampered by the
rising food prices.
He pointed out to high occupancy rates beginning in March,
due to the easing and eventual removal of much of the restrictions that existed
under the pandemic.
