AMMAN — Economist Ghada
Ghazzawi expects the volume of trade exchange between
Jordan and Egypt to reach
$1 billion during 2022, according to Ad-Dustour daily.

Ghazzawi said that the high freight
costs and the increase in commodity prices would open the way for strengthening
and increasing cooperation between the two countries in the various commercial,
industrial, and service fields.
Ghazzawi pointed out that the volume
of bilateral trade between Jordan and Egypt grew during 2019, despite the
repercussions of
COVID-19, to record about $616.3 million, compared to $567.5
million in 2019.
The increase in trade exchange is
due to the geographical proximity of the neighboring country, In addition to
the efforts made by the two governments to increase and maximize exchange to
achieve maximal mutual benefits.
Leading Egyptian exports to the
Jordanian market include food products, fruits, ceramics, while Jordanian
exports to Egypt are mostly medicines, agricultural fertilizers, carpets, and
fertilizers.
