Jaghbir stressed the importance of
the American market for Jordanian exports, especially following a free trade
agreement signed between the two countries, which has contributed to an uptick
in Jordanian exports to the North American nation, Khaberni reported.
Data from the International Trade
Center shows that in 2021, the number-one commodity exported from the Kingdom
to the US was knit apparel, followed by semi-precious or precious stones,
pearls, and metals. The third most-exported commodity to the US market in 2021
was fertilizers, and non-knit apparel came in a close fourth.
Jaghbir called on industrialists to
take advantage of the sea freight service provided by the Aqaba Container Port
Company to US exporters, which guarantees that goods exported from Aqaba will
arrive at the eastern coast of the US within 20-25 days.
