AMMAN — World Bank (WB) MENA Vice President Ferid
Belhaj said on Wednesday that the bank is willing to support Jordan’s budget
with an amount ranging between $700 and $900 million during the next fiscal
year, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.
According to him, support for Jordan in the coming period is
not conditional on economic and social growth.
He pointed out that the WB’s portfolio in Jordan has reached
nearly $3 billion and is subject to increase, noting that the bank has also
expressed interest in renewable energy projects in Jordan.
Belhaj also said that there are “discussions with the
government to provide support worth JD200 to JD300 million to address water
loss”.اضافة اعلان
