AMMAN — Zain Jordan recently announced the
conclusion of the first free training course on “Fiber Optics Technology,” at the
Zain Fiber Center, which is considered the first of its kind in the Kingdom,
located at the Jordanian Korean Institute for Technology in Zarqa Governorate.
The course was held in cooperation with the Vocational Training Corporation and
the Ministry of Labor.

The course stemmed from
Zain’s aim
to qualify and train the youth to enter the labor market, especially in the fields
that are witnessing an increase in demand.
Zain is highly interested in holding
initiatives and programs targeting youth, to provide them with sustainable jobs
in vital sectors and qualify them with the needed skills and competencies to
start their professional journey in the market, hence Zain noticed the
increasing demand for fiber service and decided to hold these courses to give
youth the advantage of being competitive regarding knowledge and experience in
fiber maintenance.
Zain inaugurated the Fiber Center
last year and fully equipped it with the latest in equipment and devices,
including inspection and maintenance tools, with high specifications, in addition
to providing the center with all the main requirements necessary to ensure excellent
training. Trainees are being educated and trained by experts and specialists in
the field of fiber-optic
technology.
The courses include 150 hours of
training between practice and theory, during which trainees will acquire the
theoretical, practical, and performance know-how required to qualify them to
work in the telecommunications sector and with companies working in the field
of fiber-optic networks. The training includes connecting fiber to customer’s
home, tracking faults and any cuts or malfunctions that may occur in a fiber
network.
