AMMAN — Out of every 10 vehicle purchases by citizens, nine take place at the
Zarqa Free Zone due to the large difference between free zone and dealership
prices, President of the Jordan Free Zones Investors Association Mohammad
Al-Bustanji said.

He said that free zone clearance is carried out according to strict government
procedures through customs and licensing departments, which ensures that the
buying and selling processes are completely regulated, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Bustanji told a press statement that the measures prevent any vehicle that does
not conform to the local market from entering.
Investment in the zone amounts to JD2.5 billion across 3,500 companies, and the
automotive sector accounts for more than 80 percent of these companies, he said.
