Amman – The indicators of local tourism have begun to recover, with the number of visitors to Jordan increasing by 30% last month compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
اضافة اعلانThe ministry's data showed that 610.9 thousand visitors arrived in Jordan last month, compared to 469.8 thousand during the same period last year—an increase of approximately 141.1 thousand visitors.
The number of visitors in the past month also saw a 21.2% rise compared to 504 thousand visitors recorded in the same period in 2023.
Additionally, overnight tourists in January reached 502.4 thousand visitors, marking a 23.8% increase compared to the 405.7 thousand recorded in the same month last year.
The data also indicated a 22.8% increase in total visitor numbers compared to January 2023, when 409 thousand overnight tourists visited Jordan.
Moreover, the number of same-day visitors surged by 69.1%, increasing by 44.4 thousand visitors to reach 108.5 thousand visitors last month.
Compared to January 2023, the number of same-day visitors grew by 14.2%, rising from 95 thousand visitors.
These figures highlight a strong recovery in Jordan’s tourism sector, reflecting increased interest from international visitors and the country's ongoing efforts to enhance its tourism appeal.
