AMMAN — A group of young activists from
Southern Shouna have been, since the onset of
Ramadan, preparing iftar meals for the needy, and will continue throughout the fasting month.

The young people are volunteers for “Takiyet Al-Karama,” a soup kitchen where food is offered to people who cannot afford it. The word “takiyeh” is the old name used to refer to these charities.
Fayez Al-Raqeedi, from the takiyeh, said the
pandemic and the subsequent loss of jobs have left more households in need of support from the community.
