AMMAN — Social media activists recently launched the hashtag “Reopen Public Parks”, calling for public parks to be reopened, especially in light of the new decisions regarding reopening sectors. The activists said that many people used to go to Al-Hassan Sports City to walk and have recreational trips. A Spokesperson of Greater Irbid Municipality (GIM), Raddad Al-Tal, told Al-Ghad that the municipality’s decision to reopen the parks depends on the Ministry of Local Administration.  GIB has closed all 23 recreational parks in the governorate since September 2020, according to the recommendations issued by the government. Some 15,000 to 40,000 people usually visit the parks daily, according to Al-Tal, stressing that the general safety and health of citizens is the municipality’s ultimate priority.
