Aqaba Marine Reserve Director Nasser Al-Zwaydeh confirmed that the campaign is part of the ongoing efforts by the authority, in cooperation with its partners from the marine and environmental sectors, to protect Aqaba's marine environment. The campaign resulted in the collection of 45 bags of waste, weighing a total of 135 kilograms.
Al-Zwaydeh added that the Aqaba Authority will continue to organize seabed cleaning campaigns. These efforts are part of the environmental events agenda for 2025, which aims to raise awareness among Aqaba beachgoers about the importance of reducing negative behaviors and enhancing cooperation with relevant authorities to maintain the cleanliness of the marine environment. There will also be an increase in beach monitoring to ensure that everyone adheres to proper environmental practices.
