Dr. Fares Al-Brezat, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Development and Tourism Authority, welcomed American businessman Todd Boehly, CEO of "Eldridge Industries" and owner and president of Chelsea FC, along with his accompanying delegation.

The visit included a tour of the archaeological site in Petra, as well as the Al-Bayda area and the Cold Siq. The delegation also experienced several local activities, such as watching the sunset from the Heisha Mountains and experiencing Bedouin life at the Al-Amareen Camp.
During the visit, Al-Brezat explained to the delegation the history of Petra as a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. He also highlighted the authority's plans to organize and develop tourism within the region, including the development of cultural tourism experiences based on the heritage of the Bedouins of Petra, which has been added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and introducing new tourism experiences such as religious tourism, adventure tourism, meditation, and nature-based activities.
Al-Brezat also mentioned that the authority is working on developing the necessary infrastructure to host sporting events such as marathons, adventure sports, climbing, long trails, and off-road vehicles, all of which contribute to enhancing visitors' experiences and attracting sports enthusiasts from around the world.
He also presented the available investment opportunities in Petra, especially in the high-quality tourist resorts aimed at specialized luxury tourism, which attract specific segments of visitors to Petra, and unique cultural experiences.
Al-Brezat emphasized that these efforts aim to enhance Petra's status as a global tourist destination while preserving the region's unique cultural and human heritage.
