AMMAN— Director of the
Maan Governorate Directorate of Culture, Yousef Al-Shammari, said that local civil society institutions had worked with the directorate over the past week to carry out a number of cultural, scientific, and recreational activities targeting youth.

Shammari said that the activities included presentations organized by the
Crown Prince Foundation and the
Children’s Museum at the
Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II Cultural Center, which lasted for a week, and included scientific, cultural, and artistic activities targeting children.
Two courses were also held for learning calligraphy and drawing in cooperation with the
Hussein Fund for Creativity and Excellence, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The Future Makers Center and the Maan Cultural Forum also held two courses in journalism and media targeting youth.
Shammari added that a short story competition was launched in cooperation with the Maan Children’s Club on the occasion of Jordan’s centenary, and that multiple cultural activities are currently being implemented in cooperation with the Luminous Thought Association in Wadi Musa.
