Salt – The Balqa Governorate Council, chaired by Ibrahim Al-Owamlah, discussed today, Saturday, with a delegation from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing the implementation of public works sector projects under the current year’s budget, which amounts to 2 million and 185 thousand Jordanian dinars.

The meeting emphasized the need to accelerate the completion of ongoing projects and ensure the settlement of outstanding debts from previous years. Al-Owamlah highlighted the importance of cooperation between the council and the Ministry of Public Works to ensure the projects are executed according to developmental priorities, stressing the necessity of addressing administrative and financial obstacles that may affect the progress of work. He called for efforts to be directed towards completing projects that impact citizens’ lives, ensuring no project faces delays.

Council members, in turn, called for expediting administrative procedures to ensure projects are carried out within the specified timelines, stressing the importance of field follow-up by the Public Works Directorate to ensure quality implementation.

For her part, the Director of Public Works in Balqa, Engineer Fayrouz Al-Qudat, confirmed that the ministry is working to remove any obstacles facing the implementation of projects. She pointed out that cooperation with the governorate council will contribute to achieving the desired developmental goals. The Director of Provincial Councils at the Ministry of Public Works, Engineer Samar Burqan, clarified that the ministry is keen to support the provincial councils, and continuous coordination between the two parties will contribute to executing projects efficiently.

Al-Owamlah praised the ministry's efforts to ensure the implementation of projects according to the highest standards and commended the role of the Balqa Governorate Council in identifying developmental priorities and improving infrastructure and services in the governorate.
