AMMAN — On Wednesday, an
archaeological team from the Faculty of Archeology and Anthropology at Yarmouk University completed excavations at
Umm Qais, in cooperation with the Department of Antiquities, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The project supervisor, Atef Al-Shayyab, said that the excavations revealed monuments at the site of Umm Qais, dating back to the Hellenistic, Roman, and Islamic periods, the most important of which is the western courtyard of the Hellenistic temple located on the northern side of the city’s main street.
