Gender-based violence workshop held

AMMAN — Irbid on Wednesday held a workshop and project called "Tamheed" on steps to build the capacity of civil society institutions, and improve their role in combating gender-based violence.اضافة اعلان

This came during the launch of a project implemented by "Friedrich Naumann" in partnership with the "Takaddam" platform and with the support of the EU.

During the inauguration of the workshop, the project coordinator in Jordan, Hind Shaheen, said that the project, which started in Irbid Governorate, will target Zarqa, Aqaba, and Irbid Governorate over the next three years. 

The project aims to improve knowledge of legal frameworks aimed at improving work environments and women's participation and eliminating all manifestations and forms of discrimination or gender-based violence, in addition to enhancing the role of women and empowering them economically.
