The report placed Jordan 59th among 180 countries and regions assessed and sixth in the Arab world. It attributed the country’s improved ranking to better evaluations of public sector bribery levels, driven by efforts in awareness, oversight, accountability, and the automation of government services.

The Corruption Perceptions Index evaluates a range of governance factors, including the government's ability to combat bribery, enforce accountability, monitor the use of public funds, and prevent embezzlement and abuse of power for personal gain. It also assesses efforts to curb corruption, reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies, and address favoritism in public sector hiring and appointments.

Additionally, the index examines measures taken to prosecute corruption cases, the legal framework governing such efforts, protections for whistleblowers and journalists, public access to information, and the extent of citizen oversight.

However, the index does not cover tax fraud, money laundering, illicit financial flows, or private sector corruption.
