The
Ministry of Culture said in a statement released on Monday that this year’s events were named after the late artist Jamil Awad, in honor of his memory and achievements. The ministry said that the festival is expected to host more than 90 guests, including Arab performers from Tunisia, the UAE, Syria, and Iraq.
The festival will open at 6pm on Thursday in the conference hall of the Royal Cultural Center, and the opening ceremony will be followed by a performance of “Tair Al-Ababil,” which was produced in Jordan.
The festival will also include seminars and workshops on puppet animation, directing techniques, and actor management. Performances and seminars will also be broadcast live on the Ministry of Culture’s social media accounts.
