The course aimed to increase women’s knowledge of breast
cancer and family planning, especially since breast cancer is the most common
cancer, especially among women.
During the lecture, which was attended by a number of women
in the town and the center’s staff, Aroud clarified the importance of early
screening for breast cancer, the methods of periodic self-examination, and
modern and effective methods of treatment, and the risk factors that may
increase the likelihood of developing breast cancer and how to prevent it.
She spoke about the symptoms of breast cancer, stressing the
need for periodic follow-up that helps raise the chances of recovery and reduces
the mortality rate.
For her part, Al-Jarabaa said that family planning helps
reduce pregnancy problems faced by women, especially young women. She said that
contraceptive methods allow postponing childbearing until women’s bodies are
able to bear the pregnancy, this also reduces the risks associated with
pregnancy. It also reduces the need for abortion to terminate unwanted
pregnancies and reduce deaths from early childbearing.
The lecture was conducted in accordance with public health
and safety procedures and standards to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
