AMMAN — Minister of Agriculture Khalid Hunifat said
on Saturday that the ministry is interested in supporting agricultural projects
that benefit the economy, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He added that the
Ministry of Agriculture is working on launching
projects in all governorates in the Kingdom to benefit farmers in terms of
profit and employment.
While supervising the first saffron harvest in Jordan, the minister
noted that the Agricultural Credit Corporation will grant interest-free soft loans
of JD20,000 for agricultural projects.
A single dunum can produce one kilogram of saffron, which
amounts to JD10,000.
This project — the first of its kind in the region — started
in 2017.
The minister urged framers to use conventional
agriculture.
