AMMAN — The
Ministry of Culture on Monday announced it was launching the “Makan Tale” program to organize heritage, tourist, and cultural sites and tourist destinations in the various governorates of the Kingdom.

According to a ministry statement, the program aims to raise awareness of tourist sites and cultural heritage sites in Jordan and the importance of preserving them. It also aims to link tourism and culture, develop local community awareness.
The first site to be included in the program will be Madaba’s heritage track. The city is home to mosaics, is rich in heritage, archaeological, religious sites, and scenic landscapes.
An event to walk the heritage path in Madaba will be held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar Thursday. Another event will be held for Tafileh Governorate on November 18, and includes a visit to the village of Dana, Shagaret al-Tayyar, the village of Adom Basira, and other sites.
