AMMAN — The chairman and members of the
Jordanian-European Parliamentary Friendship Association on Wednesday met with the Georgian Ambassador to Amman Zaza Kandelaki for a discussion on ties between Jordan and Georgia, especially in the parliamentary,
economic,
tourism, and
cultural fields.

Chairman of the association MP Khaldoun Hina stressed that Jordanian-Georgian relations are "distinct and historical" and called for expanding bilateral cooperation to serve the interests of both countries and peoples, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Ambassador Kandelaki said that relations between Georgia and Jordan are "distinguished" at various levels, stressing that his country is keen to strengthen cooperation with the Kingdom through exchange of experiences, visits and meetings.
He praised the deep-rooted relations between the two friendly peoples, which were embodied through the Jordanian and Georgian parliaments, pointing to the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and coordinating efforts on international issues.
The ambassador affirmed his country's support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem's Muslim and Christian holy sites, noting that Georgia is "very supportive" of all of Jordan's positions at international forums.
