The ancient city of Petra saw a notable increase in visitors during the two days of Eid al-Fitr, with a total of 7,777 visitors from various nationalities. Among them were 3,453 foreign visitors, 314 Arab visitors, 1,459 foreign residents in the Kingdom, and approximately 2,551 Jordanian visitors.

Dr. Fares Al-Breizat, Chairman of the Petra Region Authority, stated that these figures indicate a significant improvement in tourism activity. He also noted that the return of low-cost airlines has contributed to attracting tourists from European destinations, which are a key market for inbound tourism to Petra.
Al-Breizat added that the authority continues to develop tourism services to ensure the preservation of the archaeological site while providing an exceptional tourism experience for Petra's visitors. Furthermore, efforts are being made to diversify the region's tourism products to extend the visitors' stay.
