The Thiban Agricultural Department in
Madaba plans to farm more than
200 dunums with forestry, as part of a nationwide afforestation initiative.

In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, head of the
agricultural directorate, Yousef Al-Rawahneh, said the plan entails planting
some 7,000 seeds, in addition to preparing 30 dunums along the Waleh Dam
borders.
The national afforestation project seeks to increase the area of
forestry and create jobs for the youth.
As part of a project to supply the directorate with manpower, 160
workers have been appointed, along with 5 engineers whose work includes
trimming the newly planted forestry and maintaining irrigation networks.
