Jerash Governorate is witnessing a notable shift in its tourism sector, with an increasing number of visitors opting for rural homes as a preferred accommodation option, contributing to the growth of both the local economy and the tourism industry.

The number of rural homes used as tourist inns in Jerash has exceeded 400, reflecting the visitors' desire for a unique lodging experience that combines comfort with beautiful natural surroundings.
Several stakeholders in the tourism sector have highlighted the importance of this trend, noting that these homes offer suitable options for families and large groups at competitive prices. This enhances Jerash’s position on the local tourism map. Additionally, the new tourism projects help promote eco-tourism, providing job opportunities for locals and supporting sustainable development in the region.
Mohammad Mqabaleh, owner of one of the rural tourism farms, stated that this type of project has provided a stable source of income for many families, especially with the increasing demand for rural stays that offer visitors a distinctive experience amidst nature. He confirmed that the modernization of the farms with updated facilities and diverse services has helped attract more tourists.
Tourism activist Ali Al-Zboun noted that tourist inns have become a preferred choice for families and large groups due to the privacy they offer and their reasonable prices compared to hotels. He emphasized that this type of tourism enhances Jerash's status on the local tourism map.
Kawthar Al-Qaisi, head of the Kawthar Al-Ihsan Association in Jerash, mentioned that this type of tourism provides a special lodging experience for visitors, especially families, due to its privacy and spaciousness at affordable prices. She pointed out that the increasing demand reflects the tourists’ need for a new hospitality model that combines comfort and nature.
Ferial Al-Nadhami, a member of the Jordan Environment Association, noted that tourist inns contribute to enhancing eco-tourism and preserving natural resources by integrating tourism activities with sustainable environmental practices.
Jerash Municipality President Ahmed Al-Atoum confirmed that the municipality has begun licensing 150 homes as investment tourism projects aimed at promoting eco-tourism and providing job opportunities for local residents. He explained that these projects will help extend the duration of tourist stays in the governorate, positively impacting the local economy.
