The
head of the Russeifa Municipal Committee, Sultan Al-Maddi, said that the
municipality's maintenance staff and its public health and environmental
departments had drawn up an action plan that was to be implanted before the
beginning of winter, to ensure the steam would be clean and safe.
From
the beginning of the year, the municipality had been working to address all the
critical issues that had caused water accumulation and flooding in the stream’s
vicinity, risking property damage and the public’s safety.
Maddi
said that the municipality had continued to periodically clean and maintain storm
drains in the area in preparation for winter. He called on citizens to keep
roads clean and refrain from littering near drainage channels to prevent
blockages.
