Abdul Razzaq Arabiat, Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, stated in a press release issued on Sunday that the JTB’s participation is part of ongoing efforts to promote and market Jordan abroad and increase tourism income in 2025, considering tourism as one of the pillars of the Jordanian economy. This effort aligns with the royal visions that emphasize the tourism sector in the Economic Modernization Vision and with the JTB's plans to strengthen markets that bring tourists to Jordan and open new ones.

Arabiat added, “We are proud to have actively participated in this major global event, where Jordan's pavilion served as an excellent platform to promote the kingdom as a diverse tourist destination, blending history, culture, and stunning nature. This reflects our commitment to enhancing Jordan's position on the global tourism map.”

Arabiat attended several meetings with low-cost and charter airlines, where 5 charter flight agreements were signed with companies that will contribute to bringing more European tourists to Jordan.

He added, "These agreements are part of ongoing efforts aimed at increasing tourist numbers and opening new markets, which will positively impact the tourism sector and support the national economy."

Arabiat also confirmed that Jordan’s participation in ITB Berlin 2025 was an important step in boosting the kingdom's status as a leading tourist destination. He noted that Jordan focused this year on tourism experiences, sustainability, and the latest developments in the tourism sector.

“We successfully held over 70 professional meetings with key industry partners, alongside media interviews, which helped highlight Jordan as a destination rich in unique and sustainable experiences,” said Arabiat.

He pointed out that the German market has witnessed a notable increase in demand for tourism to Jordan, with visitor numbers in January and February 2025 approaching the levels of 2019. This rise reflects Jordan's continued efforts to develop tourism products that meet the expectations of German tourists seeking authentic cultural and natural experiences.

Arabiat explained that Jordan reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable tourism through its participation in a panel discussion on the sustainable tourism platform, where Jordan’s efforts in environmental tourism and diving in Aqaba were highlighted, in partnership with the CBI program.

He also emphasized the importance of inclusive tourism, noting that Jordan is working to improve infrastructure for people with disabilities, with a ten-year plan established in 2019 to update 60% of tourist facilities to be more inclusive. He pointed out that 260,000 tourists with disabilities visited Jordan in 2023, reflecting the success of initiatives supporting inclusive travel tourism.

Arabiat revealed that Jordan has joined as a founding member of the Sustainable Travel Alliance, launched by the "Green Destinations" organization to promote global environmental tourism.

“We are committed to developing responsible and sustainable tourism experiences that ensure the growth of the sector while preserving natural and cultural resources,” he added.

Regarding Jordan’s pavilion at the fair, Arabiat said, “Our pavilion stood out with a design that embodies the cultural and historical heritage of the kingdom, including a replica of the Roman Arch of Triumph in Jerash, as well as a dedicated area for adventure tourism, where we promoted the (Igeria) trail that enhances religious and adventure tourism experiences.”

Arabiat concluded his statement by saying, “We continue to build on our successes by expanding sustainable tourism and adventure, and enhancing inclusivity in the sector. Our participation in ITB Berlin 2025 is a step towards realizing Jordan's tourism vision and attracting more visitors seeking exceptional experiences.”

The Jordanian participation in the fair included a large pavilion dedicated to showcasing the unique tourism products offered by Jordan, providing an ideal opportunity to promote various tourist destinations the kingdom is known for.

The fair also featured press meetings with global TV stations, newspapers, websites, and specialized radio stations within the Jordanian pavilion to broadcast Jordan's message to the global audience. This highlighted the diversity of Jordan’s tourism products, with a focus on religious, archaeological, therapeutic, and wellness tourism, as well as adventure tourism and local community tourism, and emphasized Jordan’s openness and security for international tourists.

The participation in ITB Berlin also witnessed the presence of the Jordanian Ambassador in Berlin, Faiyez Khoury, as visitors and tourism professionals showed growing interest in Jordan's tourism products, particularly in environmental tourism, adventure tourism, and therapeutic tourism.

This participation is part of the Jordan Tourism Board's efforts to enhance Jordan’s presence on the international tourism stage and attract more tourists from different global markets, contributing to supporting the national economy and strengthening Jordan's position as a leading tourist destination.
