K-drama OSTs have their own dedicated fan culture, demanding meticulous work in selecting artists that match each drama's atmosphere. Enthusiasts even purchase hard copies of their favorite K-drama OSTs, considering them collector's items.



The South Korean Embassy hosted a classical music concert titled "K-Drama Meets Classical Music," held at the Al Hussein Cultural Center in Ras Al Ain on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. This event was part of ongoing efforts to support the international spread of the Korean wave and prepared to promote the 2030 Busan World Expo. The concert aimed to blend the beautiful music of Korean popular dramas with classical forms.

Timeless elegance and melodious sounds
The elegant harmonies of classical music began to play, captivating the audience in an enchanting evening of timeless elegance and the melodious sounds of classical instruments. Attendees were immersed in the richness of classical music, which brought to life the most memorable moments from their favorite K-dramas, accompanied by performances from both Korean and international classical musicians.



The South Korean Ambassador to Jordan, Kim Dong-gi, graced the event with his presence, alongside several other ambassadors from around the world, all showing keen interest in the concert.

500 attendees of varying ages
This heartrending concert concluded successfully, with 500 attendees of varying ages and backgrounds. Whether they were K-drama OST enthusiasts or classical music lovers eager to explore these elegant, enchanting melodies, the concert provided an unforgettable evening of discovery and mesmerizing emotions, uniting fans of classical music and K-drama enthusiasts alike.

The talented musicians, including Flutist Philipp Jundt, Violinists Christian Kim and Jihong Oh, Violist Sokho Jang, Cellist Doyun Kim, and Pianist Hyojung Youn, performed authentic classical pieces as well as beloved K-drama OSTs. The repertoire included works like C. Debussy's "Syrinx," F. Borne's "Carmen Fantasie," Mozart's "Flute Quartet in D Major K.285," and OSTs from popular dramas like "Crash Landing on You," "Descendants of the Sun," "Goblin," and "Reply 1988."



Sereen Barghouti (27) shared her experience, stating that she wasn't expecting such a breathtaking performance. She added, "It felt like the musicians were all connected, taking me on an emotional journey where I could feel my heartbeat racing with each note."
