AMMAN — The Petra Light Festival, which began on April 23,
and ended on May 3, reached about 10,000 visitors, according to the head of the
Petra Regional Authority Commissioner, Suleiman Al-Farajat.
In a statement to Khaberni, Farajat highlighted that 20 to
30 percent of the visitors were Jordanians during the 10-day festival.

The festival showcased the ancient city utilizing modern
techniques with light and sound. With the background of the infamous treasury,
one of the Kingdom’s most important landmarks, visual artists from Jordan,
Italy, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, and Indonesia collaborated to make the event a
reality.

With the conclusion of the festival and positive reactions
from its participants, talks are now underway that may confirm the possibility
of launching it again in Petra or other regions in the Kingdom.
