AMMAN — Retrieving and recalling memories from the past is often effortless. Yet, as time passes, some of our once cherished moment fade and become out of reach. This notion is what led, Present Perfect, a novel business, led by a skilled artisan to launch. اضافة اعلان

The idea is simple: preserving your precious memories in a manner that will endure the test of time.

Present Perfect links two concepts — gift giving and saving memories — into one, and it does so by transforming your most significant moments into enduring keepsakes, suitable for sharing and appreciation for years to come.

Established by Sarah Naser, an Architecture graduate from the Hashemite University, in 2022, Present Perfect creates miniature wooden replicas of spaces chosen by customers. These replicas range from bedrooms, storefronts, and front doors, to café walls, neighborhood corners, and religious sites, seamlessly bringing together Naser’s expertise and idea.

Naser graduated in 2020, and similar to many fresh graduates, she struggled to launch her career and find a full-time job. Instead, she launched her own business to bring her a small source of income.

‘Freeze a moment’“I utilize my architectural and artistic sense to freeze a moment of nostalgia by turning it into a 3D wooden miniature, professionally made, beautifully packaged and delivered,” Naser told Jordan News in an interview.

To Naser, miniature modelling has long been captivating, especially because she sees it a simple way to breathe life into her work. “In such a materialistic world, it is quite the feeling to cherish and treasure our memories. It is a one-of-a-kind gift, it is surprising and results in heartwarming stories, but most importantly, it documents places and special moments that are precious to people,” Naser said.
“I treat each client as a friend, I ask about the backstory of the piece in order to understand the sentimental value which the desired piece will convey. Then I carry out an evaluation of the effort and time the piece will require, and subsequently, determine the pricing,”

From idea to realityTo bring the concept to life, Naser reaches into customers’ imagination and captures their idea into miniatures. “I hold a demonstration with each client, where we set and talk, and they give me photos. Sometimes the photos are old or low quality, in which case I need to trigger and prompt their memories for further details,” she explained.

“I treat each client as a friend, I ask about the backstory of the piece in order to understand the sentimental value which the desired piece will convey. Then I carry out an evaluation of the effort and time the piece will require, and subsequently, determine the pricing,” she said.

Naser’s miniatures are usually cut out of wood, but she occasionally uses foam. Her models range from stand-alone pieces to ones that can be hung on walls, which she always double checks for fragility.

As all small businesses, Present Perfect comes with its share of challenges.

“I have been working for over six months from within my home, as I do not have a workshop or a private space where I can pursue my tasks freely. Due to their high cost, the proper tools are often lacking,” she clarified.

Despite those challenges, Present Perfect’s Facebook page is has been garnering lots of attention lately. However, Naser said that the she often avoids over-marketing the miniatures because she wants to maintain the sanctity and sentimentality of people’s unique experiences.
