The Shahid platform, part of the MBC Group, announced the release of the first teaser trailer for the series "Muawiya," one of the largest Arab drama productions. The show is set to air during Ramadan 2025 on MBC and Shahid platform, after being delayed due to the historical controversy surrounding its events.

With a production budget of $100 million, it is considered one of the biggest Arab productions. The series stars Lujain Ismail as Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan, alongside Eyad Nassar, Ayman Zidan, Wael Sharaf, Samer Al-Masri, and Sawsan Badr.
Filming took place in Tunisia at locations designed to resemble the early Islamic eras. Despite its historical significance, the series has stirred considerable controversy due to its depiction of the Great Fitna (the first civil war in Islam).
After several seasons of delays, the audience eagerly awaits the release of "Muawiya," anticipating how the show will portray this sensitive historical period.
