AMMAN
– The portrayal of Jerusalem in the media was discussed at seminars at the
Jordan Arab Media Festival this year, which started last Sunday and concluded
Tuesday.

The
film “Hunn” (female of them) by graduate student Abrar Al-Salamat, from the
faculty of journalism and mass communication at Zarqa University, won the
bronze award at the festival at the level of media faculties, according to Al
Ghad News.
The
film talks about the struggle of Palestinian women inside Palestine, and aims
to document their struggle against the Israeli occupation through gestures and
terms that they are famous for.
The
dean of the faculty, Amjad Saffouri, said that this award reflects the
professionalism of the college, its staff and students, by presenting these
media works for consideration and subjecting them to strict evaluation by a
specialized committee.
Safouri
praised the efforts of the university and the chairman of Al-Zarqa Company for
Education and Investment, Mahmoud Abu Shaira, and the presidency of the
university, represented by the acting president, professor Nidal Al-Ramahi.
The faculty
of journalism and mass communication at Zarqa University has won over 15 awards
in the past years at the local, Arab, and international levels.
This
festival hosted Arab media professionals, thespians and academics. Also
presented at the festival were awards for best radio and television programs
and documentaries from Jordan and the Arab world.
