Sadness swept through Syria on Friday following the announcement of the passing of renowned Syrian writer Hani Al-Saadi, as confirmed by the Artists' Syndicate.

اضافة اعلانThe syndicate mourned the distinguished screenwriter, who passed away at the age of 80 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
In an official statement on Instagram, the Damascus branch of the Artists' Syndicate wrote: "We announce with great sorrow the passing of our esteemed colleague, the veteran artist Hani Al-Saadi. Details regarding the funeral and condolences will be shared later. Verily, to God we belong and to Him we shall return."
His passing came at a difficult time, as his daughter, actress Rouaa Al-Saadi, received the heartbreaking news while in Lebanon filming the series "Al-Sabea" alongside fellow Syrian stars, including Abdel Moneim Amairi and Amal Arafa.
The Legacy of "Al-Kawaser, Al-Jawarih, and Al-Bawasil"
Hani Al-Saadi, of Palestinian descent, was a prominent Syrian writer and actor. He was also the father of actresses Rouaa and Ruba Al-Saadi.
Rouaa had previously spoken about her father’s battle with Alzheimer’s, mentioning how he had begun to forget many details.
The late writer left behind a rich legacy of television, cinema, and theater productions, including the famous series "Haret Nasiyaha Al-Zaman". He was best known for his fantasy-historical dramas, particularly the iconic trilogy "Al-Kawaser, Al-Jawarih, and Al-Bawasil", as well as social dramas like "Hajiz Al-Samt" and "Al-Khat Al-Ahmar", which left a lasting impact on Syrian television.
