The Egyptian composer and singer stated that his health is now "much better" and that he has resumed his work. This came during a televised interview on Tuesday. Although he did not reveal the specifics of his illness, Mostafa said, "Thank God, everything is fine. I appreciate everyone who supported me with kind words. I have started working again."
Egyptian media personality Lamis El-Hadidi, who conducted the interview, mentioned that Mostafa had undergone surgery, though details of the procedure were not disclosed.
Reports from Egyptian media had previously indicated that Mostafa was battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. The newspaper "Al-Masry Al-Youm" reported on Monday that the renowned composer had multiple cancerous tumors and would continue treatment in the coming period. The same reports also mentioned that he had undergone surgery to remove one of the tumors.
Mostafa is one of the most prominent composers in the Egyptian music industry and has had a number of successful singing ventures. He has worked with a wide range of leading artists in the Arab world.
Messages of support poured in from fellow artists after the reports about his illness, with one of the most notable being from the legendary Amr Diab. Diab shared a photo of himself with Mostafa on social media, accompanied by supportive words.
When asked about any conflicts with other artists, particularly with Diab, Mostafa stated, "Conflicts are forgotten now, and Amr is my brother. I will return to working with everyone and composing for all artists." - Agencies
