Brazilian forward Rodrigo scored the opening goal for Real Madrid in the 4th minute, followed by Moroccan Ibrahim Diaz doubling the lead in the 55th minute.

Atletico Madrid's sole goal came from Argentine striker Julian Alvarez in the 32nd minute.

The second leg will take place next Wednesday at Atletico Madrid's Metropolitano Stadium.
