Dr. Eric Berg, a specialist in keto and intermittent fasting and the author of the bestselling book The Healthy Keto Plan, explained these warning signs in a video posted on his TikTok account, which has more than 1.8 million followers.
The video, lasting less than a minute, has garnered over 442.7K views and nearly 10,000 likes.
In the video, Dr. Berg said: "There are three early warning signs of a stroke. These signs are not the main symptoms that occur when a stroke happens." The traditional symptoms include drooping on one side of the face and the inability to control it, or the inability to move the arm or leg, or speaking in slurred speech.
However, the early signs before a stroke are somewhat different. Since a stroke occurs due to blood clots in the brain, you will feel significant pressure in your head, which manifests as a severe headache.
You may also feel intense nausea, as if you are about to vomit. This could be caused by stress or high levels of adrenaline or cortisol. However, most blood clots are linked to blood sugar problems.
He added: "Avoiding sugars and starches in your diet would be very wise if you want to prevent a stroke."
Another early sign is persistent hiccups that don't stop.
The final sign is chest pain, which is not caused by a heart attack. This can indicate a clot forming in the artery due to a lack of oxygen in the heart itself.
