Why Do Some People Overeat?
Nutrition expert Dr. Yelena Solomatina explains that many people tend to eat in a hurry or out of boredom.

According to her, experts emphasize that eating in such a manner negatively affects both physical and mental health. This kind of eating behavior often leads to overeating.اضافة اعلان

Dr. Solomatina notes that overeating is directly linked to how focused a person is on their meal during eating.

She says:

“The human body is designed to feel satisfied with very small portions. The key is to prolong the enjoyment derived from eating, which satisfies certain areas of the brain. Then insulin comes into play, transporting glucose to the cells to provide energy, and other bodily processes begin. For these processes to function properly, it’s important to eat slowly and without distractions, staying focused on the act of eating.”

She also points out that biochemical processes and mental functions separate the mind from the body, and a person needs to reconnect them. Sometimes, a person may crave sweets or other unhealthy snacks. That’s acceptable, she says—but only after a proper meal, not on an empty stomach.

Meanwhile, Dr. Galina Volkova adds that to prevent the body from using up sugar reserves from the liver, which can increase appetite, it's best to eat breakfast within 20–40 minutes after waking up.

According to her, skipping breakfast can lead to overeating later in the day and a heightened craving for sweets.
