“My father plays oud and he discovered my singing talent,” she said in an interview with Jordan News.

Ibrahim is particular about the songs she sings, and chooses those whose lyrics resonate with her, or are patriotic — especially old classical music that she feels touches the heart of listeners.

The artist’s goal is to bring those who listen to her a moment of genuine pleasure through her voice. Through it, she tries to capture the essence of the talented singers of the past.

“I started performing when I was a child, with voice training accompanied by my father's playing of the oud, inspired by his love of classical music,” she said.

Ibrahim added that she only sings in Arabic, adding that her voice is more suited to it.

“I attended the National Music Conservatory for four years,” she said, recounting that she also won a national singing award at 18 years old.

The vocalist told Jordan News she would find any reason to sing, from school rehearsals to — after graduating — singing on her own. She created a Facebook page showcasing her singing, which has now garnered 200,000 followers. This also helped her raise money to cover the cost of music production.

Ibrahim released her first two singles in 2015 and 2018, subsequently covering songs by a wide variety of Arabic singers, including Lebanese legend Fairouz and Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum.

Her recent cover was of the Arabic song “Yaretak Fahemni” by the Egyptian artist Angham, in collaboration with a local radio station. She said she’ll be releasing another song in the near future.

“It's great to perform in front of a great audience,” Ibrahim added.

According to the singer, YouTube and other social media platforms help musicians reach a global audience, as they give the performer free marketing.
“Social media allows singers to reach out to their fans in a more casual, spontaneous, and loving way,” the singer stressed. By all accounts, Ibrahim has managed to establish a meaningful presence on social media, garnering almost 20,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel, and accumulating over 180,000 views.

“As a singer, I enjoy hearing all songs, and a singer must have knowledge of all kinds of music and tunes,” Ibrahim said.

“Taking part in national events and celebrations is one of my favorite things to do,” she said. This year she sang alongside other Jordanian artists at the opening of the Jerash Festival.
