AMMAN— Jordanian Paralympic table tennis player
Khitam Abu Awad has managed to reach the semi-finals of the Paralympic Games in
Tokyo. If she wins on Saturday, she will qualify for the final match to play
for a
gold or silver medal.

According to a statement issued by the Jordanian Paralympic Committee on
Friday, national coach Haroun Shatlouni, coach of the Paralympic table tennis
team, confirmed his confidence in Abu Awad's ability.
Meanwhile, an injury prevented weightlifter Mohamed Tarbash from completing the
competition in the 65kg weight category. He expressed his regret for that and
his pride in qualifying for the Paralympics in Tokyo, according to the Jordan
News Agency, Petra.
