AMMAN — The Arab
Karate Federation has announced that the Arab champions who won medals at the
Tokyo Olympics, in the first Olympic participation of the game for the adult category, have been awarded the Gold Medal of the federation as well as a black belt certificate.

In the Tokyo Olympics, Egyptian Ferial Ashraf, won the gold medal for the over 61kg weight class, Saudi’s Tareq Hamdi won the silver medal for the over 75kg weight class, and Jordanian national team player Masatfa won the bronze medal under 67kg weight class, while Egypt’s Jiana Lutfi won the bronze medal for the under 61kg weight class.
The council also approved Kuwait's request to host the 2021 Arab championship and coordinate and communicate with the Kuwaiti federation to include the proposed dates for the start of the tournament.
Ibrahim Al-Qanas, president of the Arab Federation, confirmed in a press statement that the Tokyo Arab champions will be honored with all the honorees on the sidelines of the World Championship, which will be hosted by Dubai next November in the presence of the president of the International Federation Antonio Espinos.
"The sport of karate has been able to extend its dominance and presence in international and continental forums.
The Olympic Games were an opportunity to prove the strength of the Arab player and the fights proved that the Arab Player is strong and outstanding,” he said.
