AMMAN — Champion Sami Aljamal has set a world record in
jiu-jitsu by winning the World Masters Championship title, which was held in
Las Vegas. The championship saw with the participation of more than 300 male
and female players from 120 countries.
Aljamal, by winning for the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship Masters
category for the sixth time, Aljamal has set a world record for the first time
in the history of the sport at the international level.
Aljamal expressed his pride in achieving this great
achievement for the Jordanian sport of jiu-jitsu, and thanked HH Prince Faisal
bin Al Hussein, president of the Jordan Olympic Committee, and the jiu-jitsu
family in particular. Aljamal also stressed the necessity of supporting this
sport by national institutions and companies.
