Three teams, the Barracudas, Spartans, and Eagles will participate this season in the competition, which is scheduled to take place every Friday until December 3.
Hussam Yaseen, the Jordanian League of American Football commissioner said: “People are always surprised with the level of Football that we have here, it’s almost semi-professional as most of the coaches are American, which were able to transfer their experience to the players, and we have some foreign players that played on a very high level in their careers in leagues abroad.”
“We are a non-profitable organization with the purpose of reducing tobacco and cigarette usage in Jordan, by involving young players from all over the country in the sport,” he added.
“We have a great team that has managed to hold seasons since 2015; we sell tickets and merchandise to fund our project.”
While everyone has probably heard of American football, people now have a chance to see how the game is played every Friday evening at Baccalaureate’s field.
