Al-Wir, broke the Jordanian record for the 100m breaststroke, during his
participation in the
World Swimming Championships, held in the Hungarian
capital, Budapest.

Wir finished the race with a time of 1:01.87 minutes,
breaking his previous record of 01:02.17 minutes. Despite breaking the record,
Wir came in third and did not qualify for the semifinals.
Adnan Al-Abdullah also succeeded in improving his
previous record for the 200-meter freestyle race while also participating in
the World Championships, ending the race with a time of 1:59.70 minutes.
