AMMAN — The star of Jordanian golf,
Shergo Kurdi,
has achieved a new historical achievement for the first time in the history of
Arab and Jordanian golf, by qualifying for the final rounds of the Ras
Al-Khaimah Classic Golf Championship for the D and P world tour series, which
is considered one of the strongest golf tours for professionals in the world.

The tournament is currently being held in the Ras
Al-Khaimah Emirate under the patronage of Prince Saud Bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, ruler
of the city. The tournament will see the participation of professional world
champions including some ranked among the top 20 in the world.
The
championship offers significant cash prizes which encourage global participation.
Kurdi qualified after achieving eight strokes under
par. He currently occupies the eighth place in the general standings of the
championship, one stroke behind the second place and four strokes away from
first place.
