AMMAN
– The national swimming team will participate in the first Arab short
course (25-metre) championships, which will take place at Mohammed bin Zayed
swimming pool in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, October 24 to 27.

The
Arab Swimming Federation has made an extraordinary amendment to the technical
regulations on the participating age groups, to include the first category
(14-15 years) for males and females, the second category (16-17-18 years) for
males and females, and the third category 19 years and above for males and
females.
The
event serves as a preparatory stop for the national team, which is
participating in the 25-meter World
Swimming Championships, which will be held
in Abu Dhabi from December, 16 to 21, with many of the world's top
swimmers competing.
Jordan
will be represented at the General Assembly of the Arab federations by the
president of the swimming federation Maher Mahfouth, which is scheduled for
October 23.
