AMMAN — National
taekwondo team members Natali Al-Hamidi and Rama Abu Al-Rab won two silvers in their weight group during their participation in the 31st edition of the G1 Fajer Open Championship, hosted in
Tehran, Iran.

Hamidi won silver in the under 62kg weight class, beating Iranian Fatima Husseini in the quarter finals by 4-2. In the semi-finals, Hamidi also beat Iranian Alami Bushini 3-2, who previously won the bronze at the Asia championship.
In the finals, Hamidi lost to Iranian Kosar Asaseh, the winner of the Asia Championship, by 7-1.
Rama Abu Al-Rab took the silver in the under 73kg weight class, beating Iranian Zahra Bahmani in the quarter finals by 13-3; she also beat Russian Anna Pechugina, before falling in the finals to Iranian Malekah Merhoussieni, who took the silver medal at the last Asia championship.
Yara Yassien was unable to make it through the quarter finals in the 57kg weight class, losing to Iranian Sedah Sniez by 5-4.
National team coach Faris Al-Asaf said that the competition helped the members measure their physical and technical abilities in preparation for future tournaments, as well as gain points in international rankings.
