AMMAN — HRH Prince Faisal Bin Al-Hussein, member of
the International Olympic Committee’s Executive Office and president of the
Jordan Olympic Committee, attended, on Friday, the opening ceremony of the
Saudi Games, held at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.

During his visit to Riyadh, Prince Faisal met with
several sports personalities.
Prince Faisal expressed his pride in attending the
opening ceremony of the first edition of the Saudi Games, praising the efforts
of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi’s minister of sports and president
of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
“Saudi sports have witnessed a remarkable development in
recent years, and this event is a continuation of Saudi’s successes in the
sports field. It is an opportunity for all Saudi athletes to show their abilities
in a competitive atmosphere comparable to major sports tournaments,” said
Prince Faisal.
The Saudi Games are the largest national sporting event in the history
of the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia. They will be held between October 27 and
November 7 in Riyadh, with the participation of more than 6,000 athletes
competing in 45 individual and team sports, including five games dedicated to
Paralympic sports.
