AMMAN — The winners of the
Ayla Dead Sea to Red Sea
bicycle race, sponsored by the Ayla development CEO
Sahl Dudin and organized by
the Amman Runners group, announced their winners on Saturday.

The race had broad local and international participation,
with more than 160 amateurs and professional cyclists, from 15 countries. Those
who competed did so for the championship’s prizes or simply to engage in a healthy
and active lifestyle.
Dudin expressed his pleasure with the success of the event
and stressed the importance of organizing this event in line with “Al-Hawa
Janwbi,” a campaign that was launched by Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority launched
by the
Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority to encourage tourism across Petra,
Wadi Rum, and Aqaba.
He also noted that this is the seventh edition of the race and
is also the longest race to be held in the Kingdom. He emphasized that it has
become a platform for athletes and cyclists to demonstrate their potential and
a distinctive point in promoting national tourism. The race started from the
lowest point in the world, all the way up to Ayla shores in Aqaba.
Cyclist Matthew Knash was announced in first place in the men’s
elite category, while cyclist Melanie Abbott took the title of the same
category for women.
As for the speed cycle individual men’s category, contestant
Ismail Al-Hmood won first place, and contestant Lubna Obideat took first place
in the same category for women.
The Rum100 Team won first place in the speed motorcycle
teams in category three, while Ayala Team won first place in speed motorcycles
teams of category five.
Muheeb Al-Massri took first place in the open/mountain cycle,
of the men’s individual category, and the Bat One team won first place in the open
cycle race, from the teams in category five.
